DEKO-LIGHT developed a well-thought-out lighting concept for the Wilhelmshilfe e.V. nursing home – functional, efficient, and focused on the well-being of the residents.
MORE LIGHT AND QUALITY OF LIFE
Since autumn 2024, residents have been living in the newly opened Wilhelmshilfe e.V. nursing home in Göppingen. For the private rooms and common areas of the facility, the responsible installer Oktec worked closely with DEKO-LIGHT to design a consistent and efficient lighting setup.
THE IMPLEMENTATION
Although the private rooms are identically furnished, they vary in size. It was therefore essential to find ceiling and wall luminaires that adapt flexibly to room dimensions while maintaining a uniform look. This requirement was fully met using the customizable PLANO system. In addition, glare from the bed light was reduced by selecting a lower-lumen LED strip for the downward beam than for the upward one.
In the corridors, linear lighting extends the full length of the hallway and is automatically controlled by a daylight sensor using DALI in three brightness levels (including night light). Due to the corridor lengths, 48V LED strips are used, powered up to 25 meters in a single run, significantly reducing installation and maintenance effort.
In the lounges, round ceiling luminaires with indirect, dimmable light provide a homely atmosphere.
