From ALDI to Base One. Where once hundreds of meters of shelving stood under harsh supermarket lighting, there is now a modern engineering office. Its central lounge area for employees is illuminated by custom-configured PLANO modules.

For the lighting of the open communication and lounge area, including the kitchenette, the installation service provider Oktec drew inspiration from the modern, clean-lined design of the room’s architecture. The suspended PLANO systems—comprising profile, LED strip, and diffuser—were positioned in a staggered arrangement above the rows of tables. These linear luminaires are complemented by skylights in the ceiling, which allow natural daylight to flood the space. The lighting control was seamlessly integrated into the building’s existing functional control system.
PLANO is also used in the meeting and conference rooms. From here—as well as from the additional office, meeting, and lounge areas—occupants enjoy views of one of the specially designed and landscaped open-air courtyards, which are visible from all sides through large glass façades. As accent lighting in the courtyards, Cubodo II Double wall-mounted luminaires with bidirectional light output are used.
