Company history

 Originally, everything started at a celebration. Our current managing director Werner Spieß told Hans Bollian, an electrician, about a voyage and first contacts in Asia. In this conversation both of them realized that electricians had to pay too much for downlights and that they have no alternative for buying more favourable priced downlights. This was the headstone for Deko-Light.

First contacts were established. The dining room served as a headquarter and the bed storage box as a stock - therewith we were one step ahead of the time. Nowadays, you would call it a 'home office'. A black-white postcard was the first advertissement.

The success came fast and therefore, Deko-Light had its first employee at an hourly basic. During this time, it was not possible to buy addresses. That is why we had to typwrite them from telephone books which took several days.

Within only two years, the home office became a company who had to move to a bigger place. In 1995, the company moved to Berghausen. There, Deko-Light used its skills once more.

Already one year later (1996) the company moved to Langensteinbach. Deko-Light changed into Deko-Light GmbH (equivalent to limited liability company), a higly-productive company which resists on the market and maintains jobs.

The product range increased continuounsly and the presention got improved. Flyer became catalogues - a company grew from an idea. More space meant more freedom for further ideas and growth for Deko-Light. Placed like this, the headquarter was too small in 1998. Deko-Light did once more what the company had done before in such a situation - Deko-Light moved. The result: more products, more customers. And the next move was in 2001. Much more bigger, more space and more jobs.

Meanwhile, Deko-Light GmbH had its own trade marks and built a well established import department. Thanks to the tireless efforts of all employees, a diversified range and a product catalogue with more than 205 pages resulted from that. The range and catalogue was well accepted by the market. We enforced our activities more. Therefore, it was necessary to stock the goods... and that is the reason why Deko-Light moved once more.

And the successful history of Deko-Light continues.  In 2006, the biggest move was realized by then. A new building was constructed in Karlsbad-Ittersbach. In autumn, Deko-Light GmbH moved into the new building with a wonderful celebration and many customers, employees and friends.

Of course, this is not the end of our history - we have already made more plans!
